Over 300 Robe moving lights Rocked the House at the 2012 Future Music Festival (FMF) – Australia’s premier dance music event - which reached record audiences this year as it toured the country featuring the very best sounds from over 35 top international and local DJs and dance acts.
Andy Mutton created an overall production and visual design for the event. The equipment was provided by Clifton productions, whose Mick Parsons was lighting production manager.
Twelve hours of non-stop, pumping, pulsating dance and electronic music radiated from eight stages!
The Las Venus (Main) stage offered a hugely dynamic lighting rig, fully featured with Robe moving lights including ColorSpot and Wash 2500E ATs, ColorWash 1200 and 700E ATs and ColorBeam 700s.
With incendiary performances from The Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Jessie J, Fatboy Slim, Tinie Tempah and numerous others, visiting LDs had plenty of choice and flexibility with the rig.
These designers included Ian Tomlinson (Swedish House Mafia), Stephen Abbiss (Fatboy Slim), Andy Hurst (Tinie Tempah) and Neil Carson (Chase & Status) – all based in the UK!
The Mazda 2 Flamingo Stage line-up included over 70 Robe moving lights, complete with amazing performances from the likes of Professor Green, The Wombats, Gym Class Heroes, New Order, The Naked & Famous, et. al. – all making plenty of noise for the packed and hugely enthusiastic audiences.
Electronic dance music guru Paul van Dyk took the Evolution Stage by storm with his exhilarating, full-tilt set, lit with over 100 Robe fixtures including 30 ROBIN 600 LEDWashes.
The 2012 Future Music Festival tour visited five Australian cities – Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide - and is considered by many to be the best and most memorable to date.
It was followed up shortly afterwards by the first FMF to be held outside Australia – staged in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Over 500 Robe moving lights were supplied by three top German rental and technical production companies to four main stages at the 2024 Lollapalooza Berlin festival, organised by Live Nation and staged over two days at the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium), proving once again that Robe is a powerful, reliable and weatherproof choice for outdoor events needing quality production lighting.

The power and flexibility of Avolites’ D9 lighting console and an Avolites AI Qgen media server (with another for hot backup) running Avo’s proprietary Synergy protocol – which works with all third-party NDIs – were at the heart of lighting and video control for Arcadia Spectacular’s amazing new live music / performance experience launching their Dragonfly conceptual art installation which debuted at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival (Glasto) in Pilton, Somerset, UK.
